The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) conducts the ULSAT for admission to both UG and PG courses. These courses are the 5-year LLB, 3-year LLB, and LLM. Candidates who want to take admission to one of these courses need to take the ULSAT in Computer-based Proctored mode (from home). ULSAT is mandatory for admission to law courses for those who did not take CLAT or LSAT India and scored less than 60% in their qualifying exam. Candidates need a minimum of 50% marks in their respective qualifying exams to take the ULSAT entrance exam.

To study law at the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES), applicants need to fill out the UPES LLB or LLM application form and submit their 12th Board marks and CLAT/LSAT scores to participate in their selection process. Candidates who have not taken the CLAT/LSAT India exams need to appear in the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Law School Admission Test (ULSAT) to study LLB/LLM at the institution. The application fee for ULSAT is INR 1,750. The application fee has to be paid at the time of filling out the ULSAT application form. It can only be paid online by using a credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI. The ULSAT application fee is the same for all law courses. Once candidates submit the application fee, it will not be refunded. Thus, the ULSAT application fee is non-refundable and only needs to be paid when candidates want to appear in the ULSAT entrance exam.
