The University of British Columbia ranks highly as part of country-level & global university rankings, given out by some popular ranking publications.
The institute ranks #2 as part of the latest College & University Rankings given by Shiksha, only behind the University of Toronto that ranks #1.
Furthermore, UBC also secures a global rank of #38 as part of the latest World University Rankings 2025, also ranking #5 for Sustainability, per a popular publication.

No, UBC, is not an Ivy League institute, as it is based in Canada. The Ivy League only comprises of colleges & universities from the United States, & as a result UBC is not eligible to be considered in that group.
However, it still maintains a great academic environment, & many prominent publications, consider it a part of the "Canadian Ivys", an unofficial name given to some of the best institutions in Canada.
