International students are required to finish secondary school and acquire a certificate of completion. UC Berkeley houses an International Admission Specialist at every campus who is informed of the international educational systems. These specialists are employed to evaluate applications from international applicants. 

Some of the additional requirements for international students, besides the basic ones, include:  

  • Proof of English Proficiency (TOEFL | 80-100, IELTS | 6.5,  DET | 115) 

  • Proof of funding 

  • Non-immigrant Information Form (NIF)
