Rajasthan Technical University, situated in Kota, Rajasthan, was founded in 2006 by the Government of Rajasthan. It serves as the affiliating body for approximately 68 Engineering Colleges, 03 B.Arch institutions, 16 MCA Colleges, 39 MBA Colleges, 31 M.Tech Colleges, 01 M.Arch program, and 01 Hotel Management and Catering Institute.

RTU Kota has gained recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The university offers a comprehensive range of technical education courses, including B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, and BHMCT. RTU functions as an affiliating university, overseeing a network of colleges that provide various degree programs, including Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), and Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT).

As of April 2011, RTU has affiliations with 202 colleges. Among them, B.Tech programs are available at nine government-funded institutes and 109 private institutions. MBA programs are offered at seven government-funded institutes and 122 private ones. For MCA degrees, there are seven government-funded institutes and 25 private institutions. M.Tech programs are available in 24 colleges, and BHMCT programs are offered in four colleges. To apply for B.Tech admission at Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), you need to follow these steps:

1. Visit the RTU website and register for an account.
2. Fill in the online application form and submit it along with the required documents.
3. Pay the application fee.
4. Appear for the JEE Main exam and score the required cut-off marks.
5. Register for the REAP counseling process.
6. Attend the counseling session and choose a college and course.
7. Submit the required documents to the college and pay the admission fee.

The eligibility criteria for B.Tech admission at RTU is as follows:

• You must have passed the 12th class examination from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for reserved categories).
• You must have appeared for the Physics,  Chemistry,  and Mathematics subjects in the 12th class examination.
• You must have a valid JEE Main scorecard.

RTU uses the JEE Main score for B.Tech admission. However, it also accepts the REAP score for admission. REAP is a state-level entrance exam for admission to engineering colleges in Rajasthan.
