The MA selection criteria at VBSPU Jaunpur are primarily based on candidates' results in PUCAT, which is the main factor considered. The university assesses the applications of candidates based on these scores to determine their acceptance into MA programmes. The Admissions Committee creates a merit list to rank candidates according to their PUCAT results. Those who meet the requirements are invited to proceed with the admission process, which includes counselling and fee payment, in order to enroll in the course.

After considering all the specialisations, around 50%-70% of seats are allocated to the candidates who qualify the accepted entrances such as PUCAT, and JEE Main. For UG and PG courses, the CUET exam scores are taken into consideration for admission to fill 50% of seats. For courses such as BTech, JEE Main’s scores are considered to allocate 70% of seats, and the remaining 30% are allocated via the PUCAT exam. Some courses such as BCA and diplomas require the PUCAT exam after the qualification of 10+2.
