Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University is a state university that resides within a campus size of 171.5 acres in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. VBSPU holds an ‘A+’ NAAC accreditation and is recognised by the UGC. It was established in 1987, under the UP State University Act 1973. The university began its journey with 68 affiliated colleges. It eventually expanded its horizon to 552 affiliated colleges offering programs for graduates and post-graduates.
VBSPU contains 6 faculty departments at the University campus and over 10 faculty departments in affiliated colleges that provide specialisations in Engineering and Technology, Medicine, Management Studies, Applied Social Science, Science, and Law. The courses involve various specialisations in MBA, BA, BTech, BSc, MSc, MTech, and MCA in full-time and part-time modes. VBSPU became an affiliating-cum-residential university in the year 2019, which further added 16 residential courses.
VBSPU holds 573 affiliated colleges separated into two places, Jaunpur and Ghazipur, which are districts in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
