No, you cannot join a Veterinary college without NEET if you're aiming for a BVSc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry) course in India. As per the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) and state authorities, NEET is mandatory for admission to government and most private veterinary colleges. Without NEET, you may only get into some diploma-level veterinary or animal Science programs, but not the full degree. So if you want to become a vet, NEET is your gateway.

A score of 85 marks in PCB in KCET could hardly guarantee a seat in a top government college in a veterinary (BVSc & A.H.). As an example, the GM category cut off rank in 2024 was 892 in Veterinary College Shimoga, and 22082 in KVAFSU another main university. Although 85 marks may possibly put a candidate in the 30,000-40,000th rank, at least when it comes to veterinary cut-offs the reduced score tends to be 130+ (absorbing also the normalized PUC marks). Your options might be very much along the lines of your category (SC/ST/OBC cut-offs are lower) and the college. Take into consideration all counseling rounds.

No, normally you cannot get a B.V.Sc. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry) using the mere CUET score in Assam Agricultural University (AAU). The College of Veterinary Science in AAU mainly uses their own AAU VET (Veterinary Entrance Test) to select students enrolled to study B.V.Sc. Although CUET is applicable to almost all the other undergraduate level courses in central universities, the animal sciences method has its own particular entrance examination namely AAU. In order to be considered in B.V.Sc, you are to qualify in the AAU VET.

As a rule, to get into the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) in India, you have to have a valid NEET UG score. NEET is mandatory to 15 per cent of all India Quota government veterinary college seats prescribed by Veterinary Council of India (VCI). NEET scores are also accepted by many state quotas. But some private universities or some state-level entrance (such as OUAT, RPVT or particular state CET) may provide other channels of admission to the left-over seats or under management quota, albeit usually an appearance in NEET is still needed. BVSc & AH admission is by direct entry (i.e. no exam) almost neve
