Hello there,
Your rank is low but do not loose hope as there is always a way. I would suggest you to go with what you think you can do like if you think you are passionate about engineering then you may go for a drop and prepare again with all your efforts and if you think that you gave your100% this time then you may join any private colleges which are there like VIT, BITS, SRM, JECRC,etc. and complete your engineering.

Depends on your interest. if you are interested in coding, then you may opt for CSE or IT. but getting CSE at the rank of 442 is difficult. you may go with IT. CSE and IT have good placement records.

Take up a mother engineering subject of Your choice.think about Your own preferences.dont always run after salary issues.do What Your heart tells u to.u have got a good rank and try for colleges like heritage institute of technology.IEM.techno india saltlake etc.

Which stream do u want to take up for B.Tech? in general I can say u will not get in any govt colleges but u may get a seat in private colleges like hooghly engineering tech college.sudhir chandra sur college.brainware group.adamas.supreme group.modern institute etc etc
