While Kannur University has a large student body exceeding 65,000, the exact number of B.Tech seats is limited. The university itself doesn't set a cap, but rather the affiliated engineering colleges determine their B.Tech intake capacity. Each B.Tech programme typically accommodates around 120 students per year, resulting in a total of 480 students across the four-year programme (120 students/year * 4 years). This applies to the various B.Tech specializations offered by Kannur University, including Civil, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, and Mechanical Engineering. Therefore, the total number of B.Tech seats across all affiliated colleges is likely a fraction of the university's total student population. To determine the exact number, it's best to check with the individual colleges you're interested in.

Earning your B.Tech at Kannur University-affiliated colleges is budget-friendly. The total cost is around Rs. 2.6 Lakhs spread over four years under the KTU scheme (entrance via KEAM exam). This is lower than many private institutions. There's also a reduced fee for those entering the second year (lateral entry) and scholarships can significantly reduce costs. Considering the facilities offered, it's a good value. Keep in mind though, that specific fees can vary by college (government colleges might be even lower) and living expenses are extra. Do your research to find the best fit for your budget.
