The requirement of entrance exam varies course-wise at MRSPTU. Admission to most of the courses is based on merit of the aspirants in the last qualifying exam. In such case, aspirants are required to directly participate in the online counselling process. For courses such as BTech and BArch, entrance exam score is required.
Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) in Bathinda, Punjab offers full-time courses in the following areas: Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, Management, and Applied sciences. In 2023, MRSPTU was ranked 99th in the Pharmacy category by the NIRF. It is said that the university is best for technical students and has the best infrastructure. The Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) programs stand out as premier courses, as evidenced by the placement records and median package statistics with a median package of 4.5 LPA (Lakhs Per Annum) and out of a total of 273 students, 121 being successfully placed back in 2021.
MRSPTU offers admission to most of the programmes based on merit. The university considers the scores of the candidates in the qualifying exam for admission. MRSPTU selects candidates for BTech and BArch based on entrance exam scores. The university accepts JEE Main for BTech and NATA for BArch. Selected candidates are required to participate in online counselling rounds for a seat in the university.
MRSPTU, through its affiliated colleges and several schools of study, offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and certificate courses to students. The official MRSPTU MTech placement report is yet to be released. According to the Engineering NIRF report 2024 released by the university, the median package offered during MTech placements in 2023 was INR 3.5 LPA. Earlier, according to Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University NIRF report 2023, 27 PG students were placed during MRSPTU placements in 2022. The median package offered to PG (2-year) students in 2022 was INR 3 LPA.
