It is the only Women’s University of Tamil Nadu State Government. Mother Teresa Women's University admissions are based on both merit and entrance. PhD admissions are through the UGC NET/ CSIR JRF/ GATE or any other equivalent national-level exam. However, for MBA and MCA programmes, candidates must qualify through TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) or the university's entrance examination.
Mother Teresa Women's University has a Placement Cell that helps in organising the placement drive for the students.
