SJSV admission dates for 2024-25 will be released through notices by the university. Shri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya (SJSV)  is a state university which was established by the Orissa Act, 31 of 1981. It was the third Sanskrit university to be founded in India.SJSV Puri received its recognition from the University Grant Commission (UGC) and accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a ‘B+’ grade. SJSV has one undergraduate department for Sikshashastri, eight postgraduate teaching departments and a centre called the Centre of Advance Research in Sanskrit (CARS). SJSV Puri course list includes six courses namely, UG (Shastri, Sikshashastri - B.Ed ), PG (Aacharya),   M.Phil (Visistacharya), PhD (Vidyavaridhi) and D.Litt. The SJSV Puri admission criteria for Shastri courses are based on students' performance in qualifying examinations. Whereas, the Shiksha Shastri Entrance test (SSET) is conducted for admission to SJSV B.Ed admission. The university also conducts a Research Eligibility Test (RET) for SJSV Puri PhD admission. Students aspiring for admission to SJSU Puri must check their eligibility before applying for the desired programme. They must register and appear for the required entrance test conducted by the university. SJSV Puri merit list is published after the completion of the entrance examination. Selected candidates can take part in the counselling process and confirm their admission. Shri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya has a career counselling cell to provide guidance and help to students. Apart from this, the university provides the required facilities to its students. SJSV Puri campus facilities and infrastructure include a computer centre, hostels, a central library, an auditorium, etc. SJSV scholarship is provided to meritorious students and the PG students are offered Rs 300 as a stipend.
