ICFAI University uses a standard application procedure which adjusts according to programme types and university sites. Students need to verify the eligibility prerequisites before beginning their application process for the desired program. Bachelors' degrees serve as admission requirements for postgraduate degrees whereas undergradaute courses accept applicants with Class 12 certificates from recognised boards.The first step of applying at ICFAI University consists of completing either the online or offline form for selection. Students must pay a different application fee between Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 according to their selected program. Entry into certain programs demands students to show their results from tests such as ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test (IBSAT) for MBA. Final admission depends on when shortlisted candidates will receive personal interview or counseling invitations after form submission. Both merit along with entrance scores and document verification determine the final outcome of admission approval.

The ICFAI Scholarship Program offers a 50% tuition price remission and is given to students based on their admission exam scores or prior academic accomplishments. Additionally kids from economically disadvantaged backgrounds can be eligible for special scholarships. In order to make education more accessible the university also provides financial aid through choices for monthly payments.

The admission criteria for MBA programmes in The ICOAI University, Nagaland, are that a candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in any field with 45% or above marks for general category students and 40% for SC/ST students. Any candidate with a bachelor's degree and/ or any other equivalent qualification and 3 years of work experience can also apply. Additionally, candidates must have a valid score in any of the following entrance exams: A CAT score of 40 percentile an MAT score of 400 composite, or XAT of 40 percentile or an ATMA of 40 percentile. Those who could not answer the above-said examination can write IUET, the ICFAI University Entrance Test.
