Make the most of the opportunity provided to enhance skills

Placement opportunities provided by the college helps students in enhancing their skills and apply the concepts learnt in the corporate world. Learn the process and focus on overall development.  

EThames Degree College is one of the top colleges in Hyderabad. The college provides many opportunities to the students in terms of internships and placements. These internships help students in developing their ability, to practically apply the theoretical knowledge learnt in different situations. Excellent campus placement opportunities are provided in EThames Degree College. To provide better internship and placements opportunities to students, EThames Degree College has tie-ups with several reputed companies such as Amazon.in, HSBC, Tech Mahindra, Sri Ram Life Insurance, ZAPS, D-mart, Birla Sun Life Insurance, ICICI Bank, Reliance Digital, Capital IQ, Mutual Mobiles and so on. These opportunities provided by the college helps students to develop and enhance their skills in various fields and also helps them to shape their analytical abilities.

To apply for an internship, students should have a minimum of 50% attendance along with 55-60 marks in each subject. In the previous batch, 92% of students were placed during a placement drive and around 90% of students got the internship with good companies, where students could get paid based on their knowledge and skills. The highest salary package offered in the college was Rs 10 lakh per annum and the lowest salary package offered was Rs 3.4 lakh per annum.

EThames Degree College also has a separate Placement Cell which helps students to gain more knowledge about the placement process. The Placement Cell also helps in the selection process.

During the placement/ internship, the percentage of students selected in different sectors is as follows:

• BPO – 14%
• Search Service – 17% 
• Banking – 21%
• E-commerce – 19%
• Stock Broking & Wealth Management – 12%
• Consumer Goods -12%

Different internships help students in gaining knowledge about different fields such as Marketing, HR, E-commerce, etc. this, in turn, helps students in developing different skills such as Communication, Content Writing and Industry-specific skills. During the internship, an intern would get the opportunity to work on real-time projects and learn about the specific industry allowing them to make better-informed decisions about future career choices. I am currently pursuing BCom (General) and in this course also internship plays an important role too. Internship would allow students to enhance their skill and boost their confidence level to work in a corporate environment.  Hence, every student must make the most of the opportunity provided by their college.
