CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2018: Business Studies Paper Analysis by Board Examiner

CBSE Class XII Board Exam for Business Studies was held on March 9, 2018 across various test centres in the country from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Students who appeared for this Class 12 board exam 2018 shared that the difficulty level of the paper was moderate but there were some tricky questions asked as well. It was also revealed that about 40% of the questions asked in the paper were direct and from the NCERT books.
Test Pattern & Marking Scheme
The test pattern of CBSE Class 12 Business Studies paper was similar to the sample papers released by CBSE. In total, students had to attempt 25 questions in this board exam.

Difficulty Level
CBSE Class 12 Business Studies paper was moderate in terms of difficulty level. The questions had more clarity as compared to last year’s paper.
Some students found the 3 mark and 4 mark case studies a little tricky. About 10% of the question paper was difficult. Apart from this, the one mark questions were understandable and easy to attempt.
Topics with Maximum Questions
BK study were prepared in such a way that the students not having very good language skills could also understand them. The case study specifically need to be more specific as they involve most of the concepts that are interrelated. Inclusion of multidisciplinary questions is a welcome option.
The 5 mark questions were a little time consuming. The long answer type case study were a little confusing.

Test Pattern as Compared to Previous Year’s Papers
The case studies asked in CBSE board paper 2018 for Business studies were comparatively more difficult than the past year’s paper.
Overall, scoring good marks in Business Studies CBSE Board Exam will be easy but getting 100 may be challenging.
CBSE may release a text on practice case studies for better practice of HO 75 questions. It is advisable that case studies may include keywords or sentences for easy recognition of concepts. The students preparing well from textbooks should be able to do the paper well.
