Q: What are the salient features of the teaching methodology adopted by your college? How does this differ from others?
A: The management at IISM frequently organises interactive sessions with discussion on live cases/corporate situations related to the topic. This helps students to learn industry application of the concepts taught. Role plays and case studies are an integral part of teaching and evaluation.
To keep students updated about the latest happenings in the business world, our faculty members keep discussing the business examples during the lecture.
Q: How are you preparing your students to be industry-ready?
A: The faculty of IISM uses several modes of teaching and evaluation which build critical and analytical thinking of students. It’s important to keep changing the teaching methodology and curriculum as per the industrial requirements. Real time case studies solved by students in class helps them to build decision making and crisis management skills.
Q: What are the qualities you are looking for in student applicants? What qualities do they need to do well in your course?
A: We look for students who have an affinity towards sports as it is important while pursuing Sports Management. Sports Management is a blend of passion for sports and management skills. All we need is the zeal to achieve.
Q: How do you ensure that your course curriculum is up to date and meets industry requirements?
A: The institute ensures that the students are imparted with wisdom coming from Industry Stalwarts and hence guest sessions are conducted frequently. Also, students are encouraged to participate in conferences and seminars to get timely updates with regards to the industry.

IISM is better for a Bachelors in Sports Management due to its strong industry connections, better recognition in India, and a well-established alumni network. Ironwood is good for international exposure but has limited recognition. If you want a full-fledged degree program, IISM is a better choice.
