Google invites applications for scholarships for women pursuing computer science

The tech-giant Google has announced that it is now inviting scholarships applications from women who aspire to pursue a career in the field of computer science. Generation Google Scholarship for Women in computer science will support students pursuing computer science degrees who excel in technology.
All those students who will be selected for the scholarship will receive USD 1,000 for the 2022-2023 academic year. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of the strength of each candidate's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, innovation and academic performance. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student in a bachelor’s degree for the 2021-2022 academic year and be in the second year of study at an accredited university in Asia Pacific country when completing the scholarship programme.
What is the application process?
- Interested candidates will have to share the following while applying for the scholarship
- General background information (e.g. contact information and details about your current and intended universities)
- Resume/CV highlighting technical projects and participation in community engagement
- Academic transcripts from your current institutions (and prior, if applicable)
- Responses to two short answer essay questions
- 15 minute “meet and greet” per shortlist participantGoogle Online Challenge (Invitation to the challenge will be sent 5-7 working days post application deadline)
- The two short answer essay questions, according to Google, are intended “to assess your commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and financial need.”
