IIT Madras Admission 2021: Applications invited for FREE online course on Python for Data Science

Candidates interested in IIT Madras Admission 2021 must note that the last date to apply for the course is August 2, 2021. 

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is now inviting applications from students and professionals for the free online course on Python for Data Science on the SWAYAM NPTEL platform. The course aims at enabling participants to be able to use python programming for solving data science problems. The course can be most suitable for final year undergraduate students with a basic knowledge of data science algorithms.

Candidates interested in IIT Madras Admission 2021 must note that the last date to apply for the course is August 2, 2021. 

The course will be conducted by Professor Ragunathan Rengasamy who works at IIT Madras. Prior to joining the institute, Rengaswamy was a professor of Chemical Engineering and Co-Director of the Process Control and Optimization Consortium at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, USA. He was also a professor and associate professor at Clarkson University, USA and an assistant professor at IIT Bombay. Participants can also obtain a certificate for the course by paying Rs 1000 and clearing an exam to be conducted on 26 September 2021.

The course will begin on July 26, 2021, and will be finished by August 20, 2021. 

It must be noted that the candidates will be eligible for a certificate only if the average assignment score is more than or equal to 10/25 and the exam score is more than or equal to 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, they will not get the certificate even if the final score is more than or equal to 40/100. Only the e-certificate with logos of NPTEL and IIT Madras will be made available, and hard copies will not be dispatched.
