JNU Reopening: The Jawaharlal Nehru University is all set to reopen its campus for students from today, i.e. December 21. According to an official notification issued by JNU on December 19, Registrar Pramod Kumar informed that PWD-PhD science students are allowed to enter the campus in phase-IV. Apart from taking the decision regarding reopening the University, the varsity also issued mandatory COVID-19 guidelines for reopening of campus. The precautionary guidelines released by the University read that students need to fill self-declaration form before entering the campus, and students coming from outside have to undergo self-quarantine for a week following arrival.
According to the varsity, “Social gathering should be avoided in the academic blocks and other parts of the university. Social distancing norms (6 feet radius) must be maintained inside the lab,” JNU in its notification said.
However, as a precaution against the novel coronavirus spread, the central library, canteens and dhabas will remain closed, and no meetings will be allowed except in the online mode. The notification said that in order to enter the campus, a certificate from supervisors stating that the student needs access to the lab for their thesis will be required. Using Aarogya Setu App is among the 15 “mandatory guidelines”. Meanwhile, declared the results for MPhil and PhD for students who applied through the JRF category on the official website of JNU. The results have been released for MSc Biotechnology, Diploma of Proficiency, MPhil and PhD through JRF category and candidates can check the results by logging in.
