Candidates who qualify CBT with 45% marks (in case of applicants from ST/SC/OBC/PWD category) and 50% marks (in case of applicants from the general category) are invited for a viva voce exam. The university prepares merit lists for each category, separately, based on the total aggregate marks (viva-voce + CBT) obtained by candidates.

Those applying for admission to any other programme except for PhD and M.Phil do not have to take a viva voce exam. Applicants are granted admission based on the marks obtained by them in CBT and the deprivation points are added to their score as per the category they belong to.

Further, candidates are granted admission to DOP in Hebrew, DOP Bhasha Indonesia and DOP in Mongolian on the basis of merit in their Certificate of Proficiency in the respective language.
