Lucknow University Admissions 2021: Lucknow University has received a record number of admission applications this year despite the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and the impact it has created in the academic session 2020-21. A total of 73,084 admission applications have been received by the LU for the 2021-22 session for around 9,000 seats, which is 14.3 per cent higher than the previous year. In the 2020-21 academic session, Lucknow University had received 63,944 applications. 

Lucknow University had begun the entrance exam for admissions from today; i.e. August 24, 2021. Last year, Lucknow University had received a total of 44,252 application forms at the undergraduate level and a total of 19,367 applications for the postgraduate level. However, this year, the University has received 48,022 applications for undergraduate courses which are 8.5 per cent higher than last year and 24,397 applications for postgraduate courses which are 26 per cent higher than last year.

Diploma and Certificate courses also registered a growth rate of more than 104 per cent and 665 forms were received against 325 forms for the academic session 2020-2021. This is one of the highest numbers of applications received by Lucknow University ever, the LU administration said.

Speaking about receiving a record number of applications, the vice-chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Rai said that immediately after the announcement of NEP 2020, the teachers at the University had renewed the courses. The courses were renewed keeping in mind all the dimensions of NEP 2020, multiple entry-exit points, academic bank of credit, and inter-disciplinary education. The new course structure has attracted students from all over the country to come to Lucknow University to study.
