When you have the passion, nothing is difficult for you: says Prajakta Bhawsar
I am not a player, but I wanted to make sure that most people get to play. I always wanted to be a part of Sports Management team and when I was searching for institutes, IISM - International Institute of Sports Management was the first institute that popped up on the screen and on the website information was getting updated on real time which I liked the most. I then walked to the institute and even during the counselling session everything was very well explained to me and that’s when I was sure in my mind that I would join this institute.
They say, “when you have the passion and zeal in you there’s nothing that difficult when it comes to achieving something.” As a part of the selection process, there was an entrance test, SMAT. The test is specially designed to cater to a very specific domain – i.e. sports management. The test focuses on candidate’s liking & awareness towards the sports industry & their acumen for the business side of sports. I cleared the test with a very decent percentile. I always wanted to get into IISM and it was my only aim and when the results were declared, I had successfully cleared all the steps and I then became a part of this institute.
My objective is to develop and apply critical thinking and abstract reasoning skills in analysing sport management issues, managerial planning and decision making. Practical classroom learning is also very important. It helped me develop critical thinking and other skills in analysing sports management. I am also a part of the Research Cell, the Student Life Cell and the Sports Cell. All this exposure has made me an ambivert from an introvert. I have learned to express my thoughts freely.
According to me, there is no bigger happiness than to be a part of an event and especially when you are responsible to make it a grand success. Also, writing is my hobby and it is something which I love to do. I am a content writer for ESPN Cricinfo, to attain expertise in writing content is also one of my future plans. Moreover, from the time I wanted to enter in this field it was my dream to work for BCCI. It was something I wanted to get into since I was a kid. I started by journey as a Journalist Reporter for BCCI in 2019 and one of my biggest dream came true. I wish to do more of such work.

IISM is better for a Bachelors in Sports Management due to its strong industry connections, better recognition in India, and a well-established alumni network. Ironwood is good for international exposure but has limited recognition. If you want a full-fledged degree program, IISM is a better choice.
