RGUHS PGET (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences - Post Graduate Entrance Test) is an entrance exam taken by aspirants seeking admission to PG degree and diploma courses in medical subjects and PG degree and diploma courses in dental subjects in government colleges and government seats in private medical and dental colleges and deemed universities within the state of Karnataka.

RGUHS PGET 2013 is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, February 24, 2013.

Eligibility:

  • He/She is a citizen of India.
  • He/She must have studied and passed the courses leading to the award of MBBS/BDS degrees in colleges recognised by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India and Government of India established by law and located in Karnataka State; or
  • Candidate must be of Karnataka origin who has studied MBBS/BDS degrees in colleges outside Karnataka recognised by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India and Government of India and affiliated to any university established by law in India. Explanation:- “Candidates of Karnataka origin” means who or his/her parents (father or mother) has been a resident of Karnataka State for a period of not less than ten years, and who produces a certificates from the Concerned Tahasildar to that effect in the prescribed form (Appendix VII).
  • He/She has completed or is completing compulsory rotatory internship on or before 30th April of the year in which application for entrance test is called for subject to completion of internship course.
  • A candidate, who is already holding a Post-Graduate degree in any speciality, shall not be eligible to appear for test for admission to any Post Graduate Degree/Diploma courses.
  • A candidate who is already holding a Post-Graduate diploma in any subject is eligible to apply for Master’s degree in the same subject.
  • Must be less than 45 years of age as on the date of admission to Postgraduate course for Non In-service candidates

Syllabus/Pattern:

  • The syllabus for the exam will be equal to the syllabus prescribed for MBBS / BDS under MCI/DCI Regulations of RGUHS Ordinances
  • To be conducted on English, the three hour exam will encompass a single question paper with 200 Multiple Choice Questions
  • Questions will be multiple choice types, each having one best response out of four alternatives
  • Each question carries one mark. Correct answer will be awarded one mark
  • There will be no negative marking
