Haryana government has announced that it has decided to reopen schools in the state from December 14, 2020, onwards. The schools will reopen in the state for Classes 10 and 12 students to help them prepare for their board exams. All the government and private schools in the state will operate for 3 hours from 10 am to 1 pm for both Class 10 and 12. 

The state government has also decided to reopen schools for classes 9 and 11 students from December 21 onwards. In order to attend the school, the students will have to undergo a routine check-up in any government health centre or hospital and get the certificate. The students will be allowed to enter the school premises only on producing the certificate. Along with this, the parents' consent is also necessary for all the students to attend the school. 

Teaching and non-teaching staff along with students will have to follow the SOPs imposed by the state government. The SOPs include thermal checking of students and other staff before entering the premises, wearing face masks, and carrying hand sanitizers. The social distancing between students will have to be carried on in classrooms and also on school premises. Bathrooms and classrooms in the schools will have to be sanitized every day before school begins.

Earlier, the schools in the state were closed down till December 10, 2020, from November 30, 2020. These 10 days were extended keeping under consideration the increasing number of COVID cases in the state. Anil Vij, Home Minister for the state had then said that the state government will provide all the necessary Covid-19 guidelines before reopening the premises for students.
