SUK Exams Postponed! The Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK) postponed both online and offline semester exams for final-year students of the arts, commerce and science streams. According to the official reports, the varsity was supposed to conduct the exams from Monday and the schedule was displayed around two weeks ago. However, due to technical issues reported by students, including unable to log in during mock tests and not getting the login id and passwords for the portal through which the exam was to be conducted, the varsity postponed the exams.
Talking about the postponement of the scheduled semester exams, Gajanan Palase, exam controller of SUK, said, “The exams for three courses have been called-off. We will soon declare new dates. Also, the exams for other courses will be held as scheduled if no further technical issues arise.”
Reports suggest that varsity had planned to conduct the exams for the three streams from March 22 and expected to conclude the same in a month mainly before the start of board exams for students belonging to classes 10 and 12. However, now, since the exams for the three courses have been postponed, the uncertainty over the conduction of the exams of other courses is rising. It is expected that SUK may have to reschedule the exams entirely. The papers are of objective type for 50 marks with 25 questions.
Contradicting SUK’s statement, Palase claimed that the exams for few other courses were held as per schedule on Monday and the students did not face any difficulty while taking the online as well as offline exams. It is the choice of the student to opt for one of the two modes. Most of the students opted for offline mode mainly citing technical issues.
