SPPU to resume classroom lectures, practicals from January 11

All the departments and affiliated colleges will have to follow the guidelines of the University Grants Commission regarding reopening, the varsity said.

All the colleges that are affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) will reopen from January 11, the varsity announced. The varsity's administration has given its nod to reopen the colleges and university departments for classroom lectures and practicals. The classes would resume in offline mode from January 11 for the undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes for the practical, theory, industrial training projects and dissertations.
For undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the university, the varsity announced that the practical classes of odd semesters of second-year onwards of Engineering, Science, Arts and Commerce programmes will start from January 11 in offline mode. Soon after completion of the odd semesters, the colleges will begin theory and practicals of the even semesters of all programs in the offline mode.

"All the departments and affiliated colleges will have to follow the guidelines of the University Grants Commission regarding reopening. Meanwhile, once the work of odd semesters is done, theory and practical work can commence for even semesters in the offline mode," the SPPU said in a statement. 

As far as first-year UG and PG students are concerned, classes would start in offline mode from January 11 for students enrolled in non-professional courses whose admission has not been conducted by the Common Entrance Test (CET) cell. While the commencement of theory and practical exams for all first-year students of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes whose admissions have taken place through CET will be declared by competent authorities.

For PhD and MPhil programmes, the research work will also begin from January 11.
