NDA & NA Exam (I) 2012 is scheduled for 15th April, 2012.

The first NDA & NA Exam for 2012 is scheduled for April 15th. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is all set to conduct the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I) for the academic year 2012.

NDA exam is a gateway for admission into Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 129th Course, and for the 91st Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from December 2012. This exam is conducted twice in a year i.e April and August.

The selected candidates will be sent to National Defence Academy for training. The 3 year training culminates in a graduation in B.A/B.Sc. or B. Sc. (Computer Science) degree of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The candidates who are planning to join the Indian Naval Academy will undergo through 4 years B.Tech course & will get an opportunity to join Executive & Technical branches of the navy.

  • Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this exam
  • Should be born between 2nd January, 1994 and 1st July, 1996
  • Educational qualifications:
  1. For Army - 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
  2. For Air Force, Navy, and Naval Academy- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Pattern of the Examination:

Mathematics 2½ hours 300 marks
General Ability 2½ hours 600 marks
Total 900 marks

Selection Procedure:

It is a two way process based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test that has been introduced at Selection Centers/Air Force Selection Boards. All the candidates will be put to stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centers/Air Force Selection Boards. Candidates who will qualify the stage-I will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests. Those candidates who qualify stage-II will be required to submit the original Certificates along with one photocopy each of : (a) original Matriculation pass certificate or equivalent in support of date of birth, (b) Original 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification.
