UPPGMET Entrance exam

Conducted by the U.P. Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association (UPUMCWA), UPPGMET (U.P. Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test) is an entrance test for admissions to M.D. /M.S. / Post Graduate Diploma course in unaided minority as well as non minority member medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh.

The exam this year is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Eligibility:

• The candidate must have completed M.B.B.S. course from an institute duly recognizedby Medical Council of India.
• The Internship of the candidate must be completed before April 01, 2013.
• The candidate must have his/her registration with State Medical Council / Medical Council of India.
• For NRI / Foreign candidates, the above mentioned criteria must be approved by the Medical Council of India.

Syllabus/Pattern:

 This three hour exam comprises 250 objective type multiple choice questions worth 250 marks. For every wrong answer 1/4 marks will be deducted.

The syllabus for UPPGMET 2013 exam is the same as prescribed for the MBBS courses as per Regulation on Post Graduate Medical Education, 2000 framed under IMC Act 1956.The questions to be answered would generally be of the MBBS level. Given below is the number of questions from different subjects:

 The minimum cut-off pass percentage of marks in UPPGMET-2013 shall be 50% (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC) and merit shall be determined on the basis of marks secured in UPPGMET-2013.
