JAC 9th, 11th exams cancelled, students to be promoted to next grade
Students of classes 9 and 11 in Jharkhand have been promoted to the next grade without examinations due to COVID-19
Jharkhand 9th, 11th exams 2021: Jharkhand students of Class 9 and 11 have been promoted without exams for the academic year 2020-21 as their examinations have been cancelled. According to reports, approximately 8 lakh students in Jharkhand have been declared pass and promoted to the next class without examinations. This step has been taken in view of the prevailing circumstances due to COVID-19. The Jharkhand Secondary Education Director, Harsh Mangla announced the same on May 27. He said that the exams for classes 9 and 11 have been cancelled and all the students are promoted to the next class without examinations in Jharkhand state.
According to the notice issued by Director Harsh Mangla, academic session for classes 9 and 11 were finished on March 31, 2021, however, decision to promote the students to the next academic session for 2021-22 was taken as the exams could not be conducted. The exams were being postponed repeatedly for the past two months due to COVID-19.
"Promotion of students of classes 9 and 11 are necessary because if they are not promoted at the right time for next class their future syllabus and study can be harmed. In the current situation, it is not possible to conduct exams or to open a school for at least two months from now mentions," said the Director.
Earlier, the state had already declared the promotion of students till Class 8 to the next class in view of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has already postponed the JAC 10th and JAC 12th examinations. Revised JAC exam dates 2021 are likely to be out in June.
