
AIFD 2025 - The Army Institute of Fashion & Design (AIFD) has released the AIFD DAT 2025 application form. The AIFD Application is open and the registration fee is Rs 1,000/-, which is to be paid through NEFT/RTGS transfer at the time of filling out the form. Candidates who meet the AIFD 2025 eligibility criteria may apply before the last date. As part of the application process, the candidate will have to get registered, fill in personal, academic, and contact details, upload documents, and pay the application fee.
- The admission to AIFD is through an online interview. The dates for scheduling the online interview will be decided by the candidates and the college mutually.
- The date and slot, and link will be generated by the college. The online interview for provisional admission on submitting the Class X and XI mark sheet (50% minimum) commenced from January 15, 2025.
- Candidates will receive communication about their admission status via email or phone. If they are selected, they need to follow the instructions given in the admission confirmation email regarding fee payment, document submission, and orientation. This interview will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) at AIHM&CT, Bachelor of Science BSc (FAD) at AIFD at AWES Campus, Bengaluru.
- The Merit list was announced on the official website on May 31, 2025, and the last date of acceptance of the offer letter was June 07, 2025.

What is AIFD WAT?
Army Institute of Fashion & Design (AIFD) came into existence in 2004 in Bangalore under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). Earlier, the college conducted a Written Admission Test (WAT) every year in order to provide admission to candidates in the Design programs offered by it. Since 2021, the AIFD has been conducting Online Admission Test (OAT). However, for 2025, the AIFD WAT entrance exam has been discontinued by the college authorities.

AIFD WAT Eligibility Criteria
Admission to the Army Institute of Fashion and Design is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex-Army personnel, and wards of war widows/widows of the Army. The children of the under-mentioned categories of Army personnel are eligible, and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to the Army Institute of Fashion and Design along with the Application Form.
1. The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:-
- Children of serving Army personnel with a minimum of 10 years of continuous service in the Army
- Children of ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension, or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board / invalid Medical Board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pensions.
2. Adopted / Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows:-
- Adopted child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.
- Stepchildren are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is otherwise eligible.
3. Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases:-
- Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers / Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN / IAF). Wards of only those ex Army medical officers / Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for 10 years.
4. Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS / MNS / TA Personnel
- Wards of APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter.
- Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
- Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have completed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.
- Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
- Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of Embodied Service.
- Wards of IN and IAF personnel, both serving and retired.
- Wards of serving personnel of Assam Rifles
- Wards of civ. Based on a valid NIFT / OAT score of AIFD
Educational Qualification: The applicant must have passed 11th and 12th Std having studied same combination for two years regular students with a minimum of 35% aggregate marks from a board recognized by UGC/University. Candidates who have passed their 10+2 examination as a regular candidate are only eligible for admission to B.Sc. (FAD) and B.Sc (IDD) as per Bengaluru North University norms.
Note: Candidates who have passed through distance education system or privately through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) have to offer the same combination of subjects in both 11th and 12th Standard. Admission through Online Admission Test (OAT).
Physical Fitness: Besides fulfilling the eligibility conditions, the candidate should be certified by MH / RMO / Registered Medical Practitioner as physically and mentally fit to pursue the course.

The admit card for the OAT will be available for downloading online after registration.
