MPTAAS Scholarship 2026-27: Eligibility, Amount, Registration and Status Check
MPTAAS is the online portal run by the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department. Students can register, apply for post matric scholarships and track payments through it.
MPTAAS Scholarship is paid through a single online portal in Madhya Pradesh. MPTAAS stands for Madhya Pradesh Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Caste Welfare Automation System. It is run by the state's Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department. A student creates a profile once, links it to their Samagra ID and Aadhaar, and then applies each year from the same account.
The department verifies the application, the institute confirms the student's enrolment, and the money lands in an Aadhaar linked bank account. Students at large campuses such as Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Barkatullah University and Vikram University can check with their scholarship office whether their course is covered. The sections below cover eligibility, the amount paid for each course group, registration, documents, login, status checks and renewal.

MPTAAS Scholarship Amount: Group Wise Rates
The maintenance allowance depends on the course group and on whether the student stays in a hostel. The rates follow the centrally sponsored post-matric scholarship structure.

MPTAAS Registration Process: Hitgrahi Profile Panjiyan
New students must complete a one-time registration before applying for any scheme. This creates a permanent beneficiary profile on the portal.
-
Open the official MPTAAS portal and select the new beneficiary profile registration option.
-
Enter your Samagra ID. The system pulls your basic details from the Samagra database.
-
Verify your mobile number using the OTP you receive.
-
Fill in the remaining details, including your course, category and family income.
-
Upload the required certificates in the format the portal asks for.
-
Complete eKYC.
-
Create a user ID and password.
-
Submit the form. A confirmation message is sent to your mobile number.
Your profile stays in pending status until the institute or district office approves it. Keep the user ID and password safe. You will need them every year.
MPTAAS eKYC and Samagra ID Linking
eKYC links your Aadhaar to your MPTAAS profile. Without it, the application cannot move forward. Your Samagra ID must be linked to Aadhaar first. This is done on the Samagra portal, not on MPTAAS. There are two ways to finish eKYC. The first is Aadhaar OTP, which works if your Aadhaar is linked to an active mobile number. The second is biometric verification at a Common Service Centre. Students whose OTP does not arrive should use the second option.
NPCI status matters just as much. NPCI links your bank account to your Aadhaar for direct transfers. If the status is inactive, a sanctioned scholarship will still not reach you. Visit your bank branch with your Aadhaar card to activate it. Students at Jabalpur Engineering College, Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science and Ujjain Engineering College often lose a payment cycle over this one step.

MPTAAS Login Process and Password Recovery
Log in with the user ID and password you created during registration. Enter the captcha and open your dashboard. If you forget your user ID, use the recovery option on the login page. You can retrieve it using your registered mobile number, your profile ID, or a combination of your Samagra ID and caste certificate. For a forgotten password, enter your user ID or profile ID and follow the steps on screen. An OTP is sent to your registered mobile number in both cases.
Institutes and Common Service Centres have separate logins. Colleges use theirs to verify student applications.
MPTAAS Scholarship Status Check
There are three ways to see where your application stands. The first is your dashboard. Log in and open the application status section. Your current stage appears there, along with payment details and NPCI status. The second works without logging in. Use the track application option on the portal and enter your application ID or Samagra ID. The third is the PFMS portal. Open the payment enquiry section and enter your bank account number and IFSC code. This shows whether the money has been credited.

MPTAAS Scholarship Renewal Process
Renewal is not automatic. Students must apply again each year.
-
Log in with your existing credentials.
-
Open the renewal section and select your original admission year.
-
Update any personal, academic or bank details that have changed.
-
Upload your current bonafide certificate and last year's mark sheet.
-
Submit before the closing date.
A few rules decide whether renewal goes through. The award runs until the course ends, but only if the student is promoted to the next class each year. A Group I student who fails once can still have the award renewed. From the second failure onward, the student bears their own costs until they are promoted. A student who misses the exam due to illness may still get a renewal with a medical certificate. Changing your course or institution without approval can cancel the scholarship altogether.
MPTAAS Awas Sahayata Yojana
This scheme helps students who pay rent while studying. It is paid on top of the post-matric scholarship. To qualify, a student must already be receiving the post matric scholarship. They must live in rented accommodation rather than a government hostel. The city where they study must be different from their home district. A rental agreement or an affidavit confirming private accommodation has to be submitted.
To apply, open the Awas Sahayata section on your dashboard. Enter the rental address, landlord details and monthly rent. Upload the agreement or declaration form, then submit before the date announced on the portal. Students living away from home while studying at places like Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhopal, National Institute of Technology Raipur and Indian Institute of Technology Indore should check the distance condition carefully.
Commonly asked questions
A Group I student who fails once may still have the award renewed. From the second failure, the student meets their own costs until they are promoted to the next class.
The most common reason is inactive NPCI status. The bank account must be linked to Aadhaar and enabled for direct transfers. Visit the bank branch with an Aadhaar card to activate it.
