MYSY Scholarship 2026-27: Eligibility, Amount, Last Date and How to ApplyMYSY Scholarship 2026-27: Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana, known as MYSY Scholarship, is run by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat. It helps bright students from low income families pay for higher studies. Any category can apply. Only two things matter, your marks and your family income. Students who clear Gujarat Board 12th and take admission in a degree or professional course can apply. Diploma students apply after 10th Class. The scheme pays tuition fee support, hostel help and a one time book grant. The money goes straight to the student's bank account.

MYSY Scholarship 2026-27 Latest Updates

MYSY portal has moved to mysy.gujarat.gov.in. Student login now works only through OTP. Password based login has been stopped. Fresh, renewal and delayed applications for all courses close on September 16. Document verification at the help centre closes a week later.

The online link for Medical and AYUSH courses is shut for now. Admission work is still going on in these courses. The portal will open this link later. The fresh application link for D2D, CBSE Board and NIOS students of 2026-27 is also yet to start. One more change matters. Income certificates issued in 2023-24 expired on 31-Mar-2026. Students holding those certificates need a fresh one for this session.

What is MYSY Scholarship 

MYSY started in the academic year 2015-16. Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat, called KCG, handles the higher education part of the scheme. Nine department offices approve or reject the forms, based on the course you study.

MYSY Scholarship 2026-27 Important Dates

Here are the key dates for the session.

One relief is built in. If the state admission committee is still running admission rounds, the date gets extended by 15 days after the final round.

MYSY Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2026-27

Rules are different for first time applicants and for students who already hold the scholarship.

MYSY Eligibility for Fresh Students

Read the marks rule carefully. The scheme asks for percentile, not percentage. These two are not the same thing.

• Diploma first year: 80 percentile or above in the 10th Class board exam. Students of Gujarat Board 10th and other recognised boards in Gujarat can apply.

• Degree first year: 80 percentile or above in the 12th Class exam, Science or General stream.

• D2D students: 65% or more in the diploma exam, with admission in the first or second year of a degree course.

• MBBS: admission taken on the basis of NEET.

MYSY Eligibility for Renewal Students

• At least 50% marks in the year for which you last received the scholarship.

• At least 75% attendance in that academic year. Your institute has to give a certificate for this. The format is on the portal.

• Family income within the same limit.

MYSY Income Limit and Income Certificate Rules

Family income must not cross INR 6,00,000 a year. The certificate has to come from the right office. For income up to INR 5 lakh, a Talati-cum-Mantri, Mamlatdar or Taluka Development Officer can issue it. Above INR 5 lakh, only a Mamlatdar or Taluka Development Officer can. The certificate stays valid for three years, counting the year it was issued. A certificate made after 31-Mar-2027 will not be accepted for this session.

Who Cannot Get MYSY Scholarship

• Students admitted on an NRI seat.

• Students on a TFW seat do not get tuition fee support.

• Hostel help stops if your home taluka and your college taluka are the same.

MYSY Scholarship Amount 2026-27

The scheme resolution fixes three kinds of help. Figures below are from that resolution.

MYSY Tuition Fee Assistance Course Wise

MBBS and BDS students at colleges such as B.J. Medical College Ahmedabad, Government Medical College Surat and GMERS Medical College fall in the first row.

MYSY Hostel and Food Assistance

Students get INR 1,200 a month for stay and food. This is paid for 10 months in a year. Three conditions apply. You must be in a degree or diploma course. You must study outside your present taluka. And you must not have got a seat in a government or granted hostel.

MYSY Book and Equipment Assistance

This is paid in the first year only. You get it once in the whole course.

MYSY Benefits for School Students

The scheme also covers school children. Students of Class 9th to 12th in government and granted schools get free textbooks. Primary school students get free uniform support, free textbooks and a scholarship. Family income is not checked for these benefits.

Pick your department correctly while filling the form. A wrong choice sends your file to the wrong office.

Students at Gujarat Technological University, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology and Nirma University come under the Technical department.

Keep soft copies ready before you start. Two of these have to be originals.

Documents for Fresh Application

• Self attested copy of Aadhaar card

• Self attested copy of 10th Class or 12th Class marksheet

• Self attested copy of the admission committee letter

• Self attested copies of all tuition fee receipts

• Self attested copy of ration card

• Self declaration, in original

• Self attested copy of parent's income certificate

• Certificate from the principal on institute letterhead, in original

• Hostel admission and mess receipt, or rent agreement

• Self attested copy of bank passbook first page or a cancelled cheque

• Scholarship renewal certificate from the head of institute, in original

• Marksheet of the relevant year, both semesters if your course runs on semesters

• Bank passbook first page or cancelled cheque

How to Apply for MYSY Scholarship Online

The whole process runs on the portal. Nothing is offline except the document check.

MYSY Student Registration for Fresh and Delayed Applicants

1. Open mysy.gujarat.gov.in and click Login/Registration for 2026-27.

2. Under Student Registration, pick Fresh or Delayed. First year students pick Fresh. Students who missed applying in the first year and now want help for the second, third or fourth year pick Delayed.

3. Select your department. Then pick 10th, 12th or Diploma and choose your board or university.

4. If you pick 12th Class, select your stream.

5. Enter your passing year, admission year, seat number or enrolment number, and your name as printed on the marksheet.

6. Enter your own email ID and mobile number. A number already used by another student will not work.

7. Click Generate OTP and enter the OTP. You will see a success message.

How to Fill the Application Form and Lock It

After registration, click Student Login. Fill in your address, Aadhaar number, ration card details, bank details, parent's income and hostel details. The bank account must be your own and linked to your Aadhaar. Enter your academic details under Admission entry and save. Upload the documents. Check everything once and click Application Lock. Then print the receipt. Students at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Sardar Patel University and Ganpat University follow the same steps.

MYSY Renewal Application Process

Renewal students do not register again. Log in directly and fill the renewal form. If your result is still awaited, upload the self declaration given in Annexure-9 instead of the renewal certificate. Once the result comes, upload the original marksheet and Annexure-5 within 7 days.

Document Verification at MYSY Help Centre

This step is not optional. Go to the nearest help centre within 7 days of applying online. The state has more than 350 centres. Carry the printed receipt, the original documents and one photocopy set. Submit one set there. Collect the Acknowledgement Receipt before you leave. Files without this receipt are not taken forward. If you miss the 7 day window, your form is cancelled on its own.

How to Check MYSY Scholarship Status Online

• Open the portal and click Student status.

• Log in with your details.

• Your current stage appears on the screen.

• If a document is pending, use Upload pending document now.

• Read the Remarks column and upload only what the office has asked for.

• Get the new upload verified at the help centre again.

Check your status every week. Offices sometimes ask for extra papers about your result or family income.

MYSY Scholarship Payment Status and DBT Issues

Money is paid by DBT. It reaches only an Aadhaar linked account.

How to Check Aadhaar Seeding

Open myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and see whether your bank shows as linked. If it does not, visit your bank with an Aadhaar copy and ask them to link it. You can also ask the bank to send your Aadhaar data to NPCI. If nothing works, write to npci.dbtl@npci.org.in.

Payment Timeline

Once your status shows the application sanctioned by the commissionerate as done, the amount reaches a linked account in about 25 to 30 days. After you get Aadhaar linked, it takes roughly 20 to 25 days. If the account is not linked, payment is sent by NEFT and takes longer. Students at Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Parul University and Charotar University of Science and Technology see the same timeline.

10 Things to Check Before Submitting MYSY Application

Run through this list before you click Application Lock.

1. Your percentile, not percentage, meets the rule.

2. Family income is within INR 6,00,000.

3. Your income certificate is still valid this session.

4. The certificate came from the correct officer for your income slab.

5. The department you picked matches your course.

6. You have not selected NRI category by mistake.

7. The bank account is yours and Aadhaar linked.

8. The mobile number is yours and will stay active through the course.

9. All fee receipts are uploaded, not just one.

10. You have planned your help centre visit inside 7 days.
