What is the Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship Programme?
Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship checks two things together: your marks and your family income. A student with good marks but a high family income will not get it. A student with low family income but marks below 60% will not get it either. Both have to match. Tata Capital Limited runs the programme as part of its social welfare work. The word "Pankh" means wings in Hindi. Tata Capital has said the programme started in 2013 and has helped more than 21,000 students.
The money is paid back to you against the fees you have already paid. It is not a monthly allowance. Students at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jadavpur University and Savitribai Phule Pune University are covered the same way as students at any other recognised institution in India.

Pankh Scholarship Income Limit and Marks Requirement
Two numbers decide most applications. Yearly parental income from all sources must not go above INR 4 lakh. Marks in the last year must be 60% or more. Both rules apply to both forms. There is no relief in these numbers for any category.
Who Cannot Apply for the Pankh Scholarship
Some students are kept out of the programme by rule.
-
Children of Tata Capital Limited employees.

Children of Buddy4Study employees.
-
Students who are not Indian nationals.
Categories Given Preference in Selection
Matching the rules does not mean you are selected. The scholarship page says first preference goes to girl students, students with disabilities, students from single-parent families due to death or divorce, orphaned students, and students from SC and ST categories.

What the Pankh Scholarship Amount Covers
The money is only for tuition and course fees. Take a simple example. A 12th Class student scores 85% and pays INR 9,000 as school fees. The slab allows 90% of fees or INR 12,000, whichever is smaller. Here 90% of INR 9,000 is INR 8,100, so that is the amount. The scholarship page also says the exact amount for each student is fixed after selection. So the slab is the maximum limit, not a fixed payout. Fees at Christ University, Loyola College and St. Xavier’s College Mumbai are different from each other, and the final amount always follows the fee you actually paid.
Commonly asked questions

Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship Selection Process
Selection happens in steps. Marks alone do not decide it. First, forms are shortlisted on marks and family income together. Then the uploaded documents are checked. Shortlisted students get a phone interview after that. The final list is approved by Tata Capital Limited.
The phone interview matters more than students expect. Keep your phone reachable on the number you write in the form. Students from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Symbiosis International University and SRM Institute of Science and Technology go through the same four steps as everyone else.
Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship Status Check and Result
After you submit, you do not need to call anyone again. Updates come to you.
How to Check Pankh Scholarship Application Status
You can track your form on the same portal where you applied. Sign in to the same Buddy4Study account you used while applying. Open the Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship page. Every listed programme gets a result option once its result is out. Keep opening the page while your form is being checked.
How Shortlisted Students Are Informed
The scholarship team contacts you in more than one way. Shortlisted students get a message by email, SMS, phone call, or on the Buddy4Study portal. All of this goes to the contact details you filled in. So a wrong mobile number in the form can cost you the scholarship. Students from Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia and University of Calcutta get the same alerts.
Previous Year Pankh Scholarship Results on the Portal
The scholarship page keeps older sessions live. Their result tabs are still open, each with its own result option. This helps in two ways. Students from an older session can still check their result. New students get an idea of how much time the process usually takes from the closing date to the result.
Commonly asked questions
No. The form is completely free. Do not pay anyone to fill it, because the whole process runs online on the Buddy4Study portal.
Shortlisted students get a message by email, SMS, phone call or on the Buddy4Study portal. Check the contact details you filled in, because every update goes there.
Mistakes That Can Get Your Pankh Scholarship Application Rejected
Most forms are rejected because of paperwork, not marks. Here are the common mistakes.
| Problem |
What to Do |
|---|---|
| Wrong or half-filled details in the form |
Read the preview screen fully before you submit |
| Income proof does not match the income you filled |
Use a proper certificate from a government office |
| Marksheet shows less than 60% |
Check your total percentage before applying |
| Unclear or unreadable document scans |
Scan again in good light and upload |
| Wrong mobile number or email ID |
Use a number you check daily |
| Applying after the closing date |
Submit well before the last date, not in the final week |
A form with wrong or half-filled information can be rejected when the applications are checked. Students at VIT Vellore, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology and Birla Institute of Technology Mesra should take this check as seriously as the form itself.
