Assam Institute of Nursing Admission 2026: Fees, Courses, Eligibility and Selection

Assam Institute of Nursing offers admission to aspirants based on their merit. Aspirants do not need to pass an entrance exam for admission. Candidates need to pass the personal interview round for final admission.

Assam Institute of Nursing offers admission to candidates based on their qualifying exam scores. The institute also scrutinizes the form to confirm eligibility. Candidates also need to pass the personal interview round. Candidates have to pay the course fees to confirm their seat.

The age limit for Assam Institute of Nursing General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programme is 17 - 35 years. There is no upper age bar for candidates who are already qualified as an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) or a Lady Health Visitor (LHV). The course can help experienced healthcare workers upgrade their skills, provided they are physically and mentally fit for the training.

While pursuing the GNM course at Assam Institute of Nursing, you will begin your clinical duties in the hospital after a 12-week preliminary period in the first year. This initial phase is used to teach you the basics of nursing in a classroom and lab setting so that you are prepared before you start caring for real patients under the supervision of your teachers.

Candidates must be a minimum of 17 years old as on December 31 of the admission year to apply for GNM programme. The upper age limit is 35 years. There is no age bard for ANM/ LHV. Aspirants also need to fulfill the educational requirements to apply for admission.

Candidates must complete Class 12 with English and at least 40% aggregate in qualifying exam to apply for GNM at Assam Institute of Nursing. Aspirants also eligible from state open schools (State Government) and National Institute of Open Schooling (Central Government). Students from Science background are preferred. 

Aspiranst who have passed Class 12 with English having a minimum of 40% aggregate in Vocational ANM course can also apply for GNM.

Candidates need to apply with a fees at Assam Institute of Nursing. The application fees for GNM is INR 300. Aspirants need to pay the fees via any of the online payment modes. Candidates must keep the fee receipt with them for any future reference.

Candidates filling out the form for Assam Institute of Nursing also need to upload some documents. Aspirants need to upload scanned photograph and signature in the form.

Aspirants also need to merge HSCL admit card, marksheet and certificate into a single PDF file and then upload in the form.
