Braja Mohan Thakur law college which is located in Purnea is a private college, not a government college.

It was established in 1982.

It is affiliated to B.N.Mandal university.

It is also approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) for its law programmes.

It holds NAAC grade B accreditation (since 2011).
