A review of the academic experience of M.A. Lit in Basanti Devi College.
Placements: The college had a pretty active recruitment cell. They continuously kept posting news on recruitment at various companies. Though there were no companies that came for campus recruitment in the college itself, the information on recruitment was provided to students. So, if one wanted to pursue a job, they were helped with it.
Infrastructure: Classrooms were spacious and comfortable enough for learning. The college had a decent library. Books on various subjects were found there. The department did not have any Wi-Fi that students could use. The college did not have any canteen, but there were a lot of food stalls outside the college. The college might have had basic first aid facilities available. The college had certain sports equipment available. One had to take permission from the staff and then could use them for games. Clean washrooms and adequate drinking water were a concern.
Faculty: The curriculum followed was the one prescribed by Calcutta University. professors were very helpful. They were always eager to help with doubts and suggest further research on various topics. The college semester exams were somewhat tough. Questions were always aligned with the university exam and helped one prepare for the final semesters.
Other: The college was situated in a very happening place. Therefore, there was always some event outside the college. The crowd was very enthusiastic and eventful. College life became fun and entertaining there. But one had to be a little aware to prevent distractions academically.

Average teaching and infrastructure.
Placements: Almost 60 percent of students have got placement. Don't have idea about the packages of courses offered. Don't have knowledge about the students who've got internship. Many seniors are working as data analytics and many have got jobs of good amount.
Infrastructure: We've got Wi-Fi, labs, classroom, library in our college. Wi-Fi is only used for college's official work, we don't have access to it. I'm not a resident of hostel, so I've no idea about the facilities of there, NSS is there in college, no canteen is there.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, knowledgeable and qualified well. Teaching quality varies from teacher to teacher, overall average. Course curriculum is not so relevant, it's mainly theory based, it doesn't make students industry ready. Sem exams are quite difficult, 70 percent is the pass percentage.
Other: I've chosen the course as per market's high demand for statistician. There is a lot to learn from the course. The course should be more practical oriented and programming oriented.

I am dissatisfied because of the infrastructure.
Placements: There were about 19 students in our batch. Our batch was comprised of quite intelligent students from good schools, but we never got a chance to attend for any company as there was no placement cell at our time. I have never seen any of our seniors got placed through the college.
Infrastructure: The library is quite good. Facilities like classrooms, common rooms, games room, canteen, labs and others were in extremely bad condition. During our time, the college was undergoing some major infrastructural changes.
Faculty: Teachers in our course were very friendly, highly qualified and experienced with good teaching skills. Statics and maths teachers were not good. The course curriculum was average if students choose to opt for masters or a post-doctorate degree. The course curriculum is not at all relevant if students opt for private-sector jobs.

In a word, BDC is a good college for disciplined and attentive students.
Placements: The college does not provide any placement opportunities. Previously, TCS visited the college, but for the last two years, it didn't visit the college to hire the students. Department-wise, many seminars are organised, so it is helpful for the students in the future. Some NSC classes are going on in the college, and the students may join as a librarian in the college itself.
Infrastructure: Physics lab is good enough, especially electronics lab. Overall, all the instruments are fair enough. There is a dark room for optics. The classrooms are very big, and still, there is a blackboard system. In the labs, there are a projector and a whiteboard. The security is good. Washrooms are fine enough.
Faculty: The faculty members in the college are good, but they are not very open with the students. There is no interpersonal relationship between teachers and students, but still, the faculty members are helpful. The practical session depends on the faculty. Faculty members try hard to finish the whole syllabus. Parent-teacher meeting is also held in the college.
Other: Every year, an annual programme is organised, especially arts group introduced it. They take us for a picnic annually. Some experienced faculty members visit the college to teach and deliver lectures, and also some two to three seminars.

It's very good because they have their personality .
Placements: So many students are un the course, 78%, many types of counseling like treatment of children, so good, teachers are American, but they have to do something like that for the most important thing is that you can I have no idea how to do it but you have to make sure? The right? For your business and you will need a .
Infrastructure: Very good, they have cleaned washrooms, they librey in AC, good class room, clean college, hhh the best for the most used in Bengal version of your programme and you will need a very good one to? They have a lot to say to you about how to do this and that I can I can get you to do that and I will be there on the 15th and will be able for a .
Faculty: Teacher are very helpful, they are clam, they are gentle with every student has to be a child and they have a lot to learn and be a part in the sun in the world of our first day and I hope that we will need to get a hold on 22nd and I would love you so?
Other: Campus is good .

The management of this college should try to improve the language barrier as all teachers teach in B
Placements: Nearly 90% of students have been placed, with the highest package being $1,000 and the lowest being $700. There is no internship being provided over here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this institution is very nice, but the hostel needs a little renovation. The canteen is nice and well organized.
Faculty: The teachers are very qualified. The course curriculum is relevant and it helps the students achieve their goals. The semester exams are not that difficult in college. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: The things that should be improved are awareness of the subject among the people and its relevance.

This college building is very beautiful.
Placements: This college provides good placement for all students. It is good for a student's future. Around 56% of students are placed in this course. This college offered Rs 5,000 in our course. Banking jobs and any other jobs are offered for this course. It is a very good choice for me.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are clean in this college. All sports and games are available, and library is also very good. There are various types of math books, and also other subjects books are available. Canteen is good, and the food served is healthy and yummy.
Faculty: Faculty members are good for mathematics honors. The teachers are very helpful and humble with students. Teachers have high qualified degrees. The semester exams are difficult to complete the syllabus within 6 months otherwise, it is good. The passing marks are 25 out of 100.
Other: I opted for mathematics, because of my interest in it. It is my favorite subject.

Semester system has changed the campus or not I don't know. But I wouldn't like to go back.
Placements: 2 students were placed from my batch one in ICICI Prudential (not related to the course) another in TCS (again not related to the course) for marketing. No internship was offered. Don't have clear idea about the package, but it was 12k per month.
Infrastructure: Lab was great, chemicals were available all the time. But few professors used to act as if they are paying and we are wasting it. Only a proper classroom was allotted for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year. One had to plan way to accommodate student. Library was okay, it was air conditioned but books were quite old. There is no hostel.
The canteen was tattered but it shifted to common room and was okay but still below expectations.
Faculty: Teachers were qualified but apart from few, they weren't friendly, helpful is out of the box. They made our life miserable. Some kept us waiting from morning 11am to 4pm then cancel the class. Teachers are qualified they all have Ph.D. and also have Ph.D. scholars under them but they were very poor as educators. They don't have their concept well revised. They are unfit to teach, until you have proper coaching guidance it's difficult to clear the university exam. No the course curriculum doesn't make the student industry ready but make them part of a system where mugging up stuff measures your success.
Other: My chemistry teacher in school was awesome she was the one who made me fall in love with the subject, also this college was walking distance from my home so I chose it. Following are to be improved,
Internship,
teachers attitude, so that student teacher relationship might flourish. University exam based studies. There was no fest back in 2017 only sports day.
