Review of Brahmanand College of Science.
Placements: I have completed my B.Sc. in nursing from Brahmanand College of Nursing. My batch passed out in 2024. Since we are paramedical staff, we have 3 options after completing B.Sc. nursing: 1. further studies M.Sc.; 2. work as a tutor in a nursing college; and 3. join as nursing staff in a hospital. Our college gives us only placement as a nursing tutor in our own college. So there are not many placements that I can write about. About my batch placement:
Many of my batchmates are doing M.Sc., and a few of us joined the hospital as nursing staff. Out of 50 students, 5 of us joined as tutors in our own college. Package: The highest is 30000 (joined as nursing staff in a government hospital). The lowest is, I guess, 10000 (nursing tutor). There is no official recruitment.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Hostels are not that good. And hostel food is bad. Food is really bad; for example, once they made shiro (a sweet dish) and added salt by mistaking it for suger.
There is a water cooler for the whole college, so too much crowd during the 15-minute break. There are 3 toilets, one on every floor (3-floored college). There are projectors in all classes, but only a few of them are working properly. White boards to teach. Old desk. About fun activities:
Other is no such thing as fun activities. Other is only 1 function that they do in the whole year, which is another ceremony for 1st year students. We (students) plan sports week every year, but the principal doesn't allow us to have some fun.
Faculty: There are only a few teachers who are actually good at teaching. Many of them have studied there. Exams are not that difficult; if you study one week before the exams, you can pass them for sure. There are a total 8 semesters in B.Sc. nursing. So there are 8 semester exams in addition; other are term exams that are conducted just before semester exams, so a total 16 important exams. They conduct term exams to give you internal marks on the basis of your score in term exams, but trust me, if you are nutritious or don't follow every rule of college, they will give you order line internal marks even if you score the highest in a term exam in your class.
