To be eligible for admission to Kusum Devi Sunderlal Dugar Jain Dental College and Hospital for the BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) course, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Age: The candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31st of the year of admission.
2. Qualifying Examination: The candidate must have passed a qualifying examination equivalent to 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, with a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training.
3. Entrance Exam: Admission is through the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). After clearing NEET, students participate in counseling organized by the central/state government.
4. Academic Requirements: The candidate should have passed the qualifying examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics or other elective subjects with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training.
5. Migration: Migration from one dental college to another is considered by the Dental Council of India only in exceptional cases on extreme compassionate grounds, provided certain criteria are fulfilled, including 75% marks in theory and practical/clinical in each year and at least 70% attendance in the subject.
6. Other Skills and Knowledge: The undergraduate course aims to equip students with knowledge and skills in day-to-day dental practice, applying principles of ethics, analyzing treatment outcomes, performing thorough clinical examinations, integrating multiple disciplines into a comprehensive treatment plan, and recognizing and managing medical emergencies during dental treatment.
