The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2027 exam in May. The exam is expected to be held on May 2, 2027, based on previous years trends where the exam took place on the first Sunday of May. The NTA NEET exam will be held for admissions to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, BUMS, BVSC & AH and other allied courses. NEET UG 2027: Expected Changes

Authorities are considering changes in the exam to prevent NEET exam paper leak like the ones happened during the 2026 session. Have a look at the expected changes in NEET 2027 below-

    • Exam mode: The exam will be conducted online in computer based test (CBT) mode, as per the announcement made by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following alleged NEET paper leak in 2026.
    • Exam duration: The exam duration is expected to increase by 15 minutes as the authorities already announced this decision for Re NEET 2026 exam.
    • Cap on age limit and number of attempts: The government is considering the introduction of upper age limit and cap on the number of attempts in NEET UG exam.

Q:   Can I get AIIMS with 550 NEET scores?
A: 

The AIIMS accepts NEET scores for admission to the MBBS. Students need to obtain the NEET cut off percentile and scores to get shortlisted for counselling in AIIMS MBBS course. The NEET 2025 cutoff scores for generally category was 686-144. So, a general category student with 550 marks cannot take admissions to AIIMS. 

Q:   Can I get MBBS with 80,000 rank?
A: 

Yes, candidates can get MBBS with 80,000 rank. However, such candidates can only take admission in private MBBS colleges, deemed universities or through management/ NRI quota.
