The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2027 exam for admissions to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, BUMS, BVSC & AH and other allied courses. The exam is expected to be held on May 2, 2027, based on previous years trends where the exam took place on the first Sunday of May. NEET UG 2027: Expected Changes
Authorities are considering changes in the exam to prevent NEET exam paper leak like the ones happened during the 2026 session. Have a look at the expected changes in NEET 2027 below-
- Exam mode: The exam will be conducted online in computer based test (CBT) mode, as per the announcement made by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following alleged NEET paper leak in 2026.
- Exam duration: The exam duration is expected to increase by 15 minutes as the authorities already announced this decision for Re NEET 2026 exam.
- Cap on age limit and number of attempts: The government is considering the introduction of upper age limit and cap on the number of attempts in NEET UG exam.

The NEET UG exam has 180 questions. Out of these, 45 questions are from Physics, 45 from Chemistry and 90 from Biology (45 each in Botany and Zoology). All 180 questions are compulsory to attempt.

There is no provision in conducting the NEET 2026 exam twice a year. The NTA conducts the exam only once a year in the month of May. Candidates need to keep a track on the NTA NEET website to get the updates on the exam.

No, Punjabi University, Patiala are not decided based on NEET-UG score. Punjabi University, Patiala has only mentioned accepting scores of its ownin-house entrance exam to select candidates for BPharm courses.
Thus, candidates with a valid NEET-UG score will still need to appear in this entrance exam
