While the Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT) Mumbai is a well-known engineering institution particularly for its computer science, information technology and electronics departments it may not be the best in Mumbai. Institutions such as IIT Bombay, Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), and Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) are often ranked higher because to their better reputation, facilities and greater research opportunities. However DBIT is a strong candidate in the Tier 2 category since it provides great academic quality practical experience and good placement prospects. Many pupils are also drawn to its holistic development approach and Jesuit educational beliefs.
