The ITM Institute of Hotel Management (ITM IHM) has earned several accolades during different national rankings, making its presence felt across the country regarding hotel management education in India. Rankings: India Today: In 2019, ITM IHM had been featured in 35 follows by various hotel management colleges across the country. Outlook: In 2021, the Institute ranked 2nd in a list of hotel management colleges across the country. Times Education: As per the 2022 survey, ITM IHM ranks itself among the top hotel management institutes in India. Tier Classification: There is no standard procedure for classifying institutions into Tier 1 or Tier 2 as this varies according to any criteria of academic excellence, industry reputation, research output, and placement records, etc. Thus, even though ITM IHM has ranked quite commendably, such as being ranked second according to Outlook in 2021, it still does not belong in the larger picture of Indian hotel management as a Tier 2 institution. Conclusion: The ITM Institute of Hotel Management is a good institute with great rankings on the national level and is mainly known for being ranked 2nd in the 2021 rankings by Outlook. Besides, a standard tier classification does not exist; therefore, determining whether an institute is clearly Tier 1 or 2 is subjective. Therefore, students can take up these rankings with many other criteria like the programme structure, faculty, infrastructure, and individual career aspirations associated with that given institute as students consider the institute for future reference.
