While the college produces students employed in top companies like TCS, Infosys and Google, it does not feature any "top alumni" with [national or international] recognition like those institutions associated with famous figures. Its former students help different industries, but there are no famous people officially recognised at this time.

Admission to the courses is based on the scores obtained in TNEA counseling. To be eligible for any course, the candidate has to score a minimum of 45% in class 12th in a relevant stream from any recognized board.PG:At the PG level, the institute offers only MTech, MBA, and MCA courses. Admission to the MTech courses is based on the scores obtained in the GATE exam, while MBA and MCA admissions are based on the TANCET scores. To be eligible for any course, the candidate has to score a minimum of 45% in graduation in a relevant stream from any recognized university.

Usually, students apply for B.E./B.Tech through TNEA counselling which requires completing online registration (open until June 6, 2025) and showing documents for verification. You may also get admitted directly through the Management Quota, by filling out the online application on the GCT website. If you want to study MBA/MCA or M.E./M.Tech, admission is decided mainly by your TANCET/CEETA PG or GATE scores, and you need to attend the state-level counselling (registration and scorecard downloads required).

It depends on the course in which the student is interested. GCT - Gnanamani College of Technology offers MBA, MCA, MTech, and BTech courses. The basic eligibility criteria for each course require the student to have a minimum of 45% in the previous qualification. Along with this, the student needs to have a minimum valid score in TNEA counseling, or GATE exam for admission to BTech, and MTech, respectively, and in TANCET exam for admission to MBA and MCA courses. Candidates meeting all the admission requirements can apply by appearing for the respective counseling or directly filling out the admission form on the official website of the college for admission under the management quota.

For GCT B.E. / B.Tech admission through TNEA 2025 counselling, apply on or before June 6, 2025 and have at least 45% (corresponding to 40% for residents) in physics, chemistry and math at 10+2. TNEA rank is used to determine if you are accepted for admission. As an alternative, apply through the Management Quota which requires the same academic qualifications. The cost for management quota is generally much higher. The official website of GCT and the portal for TNEA are the places to go for new details.

Sports facilities (for cricket, football, tennis, gym) and several social/community service groups (like NSS, YRC and Rotaract) on-site are also available.
