The regulatory authority National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) changed the B.Ed course from 1-year to 2‑year (four semesters) for all new admissions since around 2014‑15. For distance or correspondence B.Ed (or ODL — open/distance learning) mode, NCTE sets that the duration must be 24 months (2 years). Therefore, any “1‑year B.Ed” — through regular or distance mode — is not valid under current NCTE norms (unless it's some outdated or special exception, which is unlikely).
