Here is my short review of Government Polytechnic Vaishali.
Placements: Placement is provided to students in bulk in my last year. Companies are willing to hire most of the students, primarily from the Mechanical and Electrical branches, but not from Civil and Electronics. The package was constant for all students at 1.8 LPA. There were not many companies visiting our campus; there were hardly one or two. Top roles were mostly fieldwork and for sales.
Infrastructure: The college campus size is decent. Classrooms are average, and labs are equipped with proper equipment for each branch. Wi-Fi is not available, and the library was decent. There is no hostel for students; there was a girls' hostel, but it was not operational. The canteen provides good basic food. In my three-year course, I didn't see any sports events.
Faculty: Only good things are their teachers; they are highly qualified, and they pay full attention to their students. I found the curriculum relevant because they focus on theories as well as practical knowledge, which makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are easy to moderate; students can easily pass. So the passing percentage of my branch is almost 90%, but as I see in the Electronics branch, the passing percentage was less than 30%.
Other: I chose this course because it has a good demand in our Bihar. Also, in the government sector, civil vacancies are the highest comparatively. I think designing knowledge should be given to students. Software like AutoCAD and SolidWorks are in great demand. Events and fests are rare. The campus crowd is decent, mostly the students are from villages. Connectivity and the campus surroundings are the worst; it is located in the middle of a village, and we have to walk around 1.5 km from the main road to reach the college. Scholarships are given to students. Extracurricular activities happen rarely.
