I am a student of GIBS B Schools and have experienced immense growth opportunities and platforms where I could understand how well I am appreciated in corporate world. Students here run through many activities and value added programs arranged by the management that helps them to shape their personality and skill in to a corporate one. Every student is in some or other clubs or committees like Marketing, HR, Finance, Entrepreneurship and many more handling their respective responsibilities. We get twice a week guest lectures where dignities from corporate addresses us and nourishes our minds with actual scenario of the corporate world. Students coming up with innovations and new ideas are appreciated and encouraged. Recently we had a national symposium "ENCHAINER 2K16" and on the same day one of our finest student Miss. Shraddha Patil launched a new club named "Women Empowerment" and another student Mr, Floyd Fernandes opened a "Student's Research Center" where college students will do research in areas of their interest and the selected ones would be published in Magazines or Newspapers. So, student can actively and openly work in areas of their interests to add up to their profile. Getting opportunity in the top 10 colleges like IIM's, MDI, Christ, IBS Hyderabad etc. is a dream come true for the students. These colleges not only provide degree but also an exposure which is as per the current trends of an industry. Although all the colleges have their own merits and demerits. You have to choose a particular college on the basis of your preferences such as location, fees, merit, value addition, Return on investments, Placements etc. Apart from this, college alone cannot help you to achieve your desired goals. Your skills and your knowledge also matters a lot. That's all I can say right now. It's ultimately your decision which college suits you the most. All the best for your bright future.

Depends for finance co.s such as Big 4's(KPMG, Deloitte, PWC, E&Y), E Value-serve and others do offer an avg package of Rs. 5-6 Lakhs including CTC. For marketing, co.s such as Exponential, CB Richards, Naukri.com, Metll, Expedia etc. do offer Rs .5-7 Lakhs including CTC. Although the above figures may vary because it totally depends on the requirements of the company related to the packages offered to the students(Whether experienced or freshers) depending on their skills. In addition to that, students with work experience are offered more than the normal packages as compared to that of the freshers.

IBS Hyderabad, Jaipur and Dehradun provides the degree of MBA but IBS Gurgaon provides a PGPM degree. By PGPM, I mean to say that it is an autonomous programme which is simply a combination or include the components of both MBA and PGDM. In addition to that, it is also according to the current trends of an industry. The answer to your question is-No. The affiliation won't be an obstacle at the time of placements-Whether through campus or off campus. At the same time, there is an exception of the same. If you want to go for the govt job or for a Ph.D., then in that case, you need to acquire an MBA degree for which there is a different procedure in order to acquire the same. Last but not the least, as I keep on reminding other students that not only IBS, but several other colleges like IIM, MDI etc. do provide PGPM degree which won't cause a trouble for them in case they would like to go for corporate jobs.

Not only for IBS Gurgaon, but for any XYZ college, you need to do certain check regarding the reputation, placement records etc. in order to know more about the college. MBA is a degree offered by colleges recognised by University Grant Commission(UGC) and PGDM is a diploma offered by the institutes recognised by All India Council by Technical Education(AICTE). UGC is made for maintenance of standards of university education whereas AICTE is for technical and management education in India. PGPM is a Post Graduate Programme in Management which is according to the current trends of an industry. IBS Gurgaon provide a degree of PGPM which includes both the components of MBA and PGDM. As far as Ph.D. is concerned, the candidates seeking admission for Full Time Ph.D. Program with a post graduate degree in disciplines other than Management (MBA) are required to attend and clear the semester-1 and semester-2 courses of MBA program at IBS Hyderabad with a minimum CGPA of 7.5 as a pre-requisite to pursue Ph.D. in Management. I would also suggest you to inquire about the same from the college as they can provide you with the better solution regarding Ph.D. programme.

For PGPM programme in IBS Gurgaon, you first have to log on to the website of IBS Gurgaon. In the menu, you will find the admissions column and go through the application guidelines in the admission. In the same column, you will find complete application where you need to fill your details regarding your acads. After that, you have to appear for a Group Discussion(GD) and Personal Interview(PI). Since IBS Gurgaon do provide a PGPM degree(i.e. autonomous programme), in that case, for pursuing an MBA programme, it also offers an mba degree which is being conducted by IBS Dehradun on the payment of a certain fee i.e. Rs 25000 pa. Examinations for the same are also held in June/July/December/January every year and are conducted on Online/Computer based test mode for the same.

Defining decent is a tough job! I believe that ROI would play a significant role as I keep telling other students regarding the same. For any college, look for 2 things-ROI(Return on Investments) and placements. As you have not mentioned which college you will opt for, I must give you a brief idea about IBS Gurgaon. The fees of this college is only Rs. 7 lakhs and the there is an average package of Rs. 5-6 lakhs including CTC. There are also international packages which do offers more than Rs 15 lakhs including CTC. Big 4's, do come to Ibs gurgaon every year. Companies like Oyo rooms,Expedia,CB Richards,Exponential,Copal Amba,Proctivity,Thomas International along with many others do come to IBS gurgaon. For finance, co.s such as Big 4's(KPMG, Deloitte, PWC, E&Y), E Value-serve, Proctivity, Copal Amba among others do offer an avg package of Rs. 5-6 Lakhs including CTC. Apart from this, read Economic Times, Financial Express etc to upgrade your knowledge for the same. There is a course named Certified Financial Planner(CFP) which is an international certification program in the field of Financial Planning, wealth management, financial consultancies etc. You can also apply for various internship in the field of finance which will definitely help you in the placement process. From the college itself. There will be no difference as far as company and placements are concerned. Companies visiting the campuses are least bothered about the degree or diploma an individual is holding. All they(company) is interested in various traits such as skills, hard work, smart work, innovation, complete involvement, ownership and managing things in an effective and efficient manner. Apart from corporates, in case of government jobs, degree of MBA is a must. In addition to that, If an individual wants to go for Ph.D., the degree of same is required. That's the only difference between the two and no other difference exists as far as I am concerned.
