A:

CAT score is a national level test and is not accepted by B-Schools outside India. For pursuing MBA in foreign countries GMAT score is accepted. Indian B-Schools accept GMAT score for admitting foreign/NRI/PIO students.

CAT is also accepted for Executive MBA, PhD, FPM and other such management programmes in top colleges in India. Similarly, GMAT is also accepted for admission to domestic students in to Executive MBA and such programmes.

Q:   Does NTA conduct MBA Admission through CMAT?
A:
No, the NTA doesn't conduct common counselling for admission through CMAT. The role of NTA viz. CMAT ends with result declaration. The CMAT accepting colleges conduct their own admission process individually. Candidates have to fill admission forms of the target colleges individually. The MBA colleges and universities accepting CMAT scores conduct group discussion and Personal Interview to select candidates for admission. This selection is based on minimum CMAT cut off fixed by the institute. Admission through CMAT also includes assessment of candidates on the basis of other parameters such as academic record and work experience (not mandatory for all colleges). The National Institute of Advertising offers Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Communication Management (PGDMCM). Candidates who have completed their graduation or are in their final year can apply for the course. Check the details of the course in the table below.

Q:   What is the admission process through MAT?
A:
The admission process for MBA/PGDM courses through MAT includes group discussion and Personal Interview . Some of the MBA colleges also conduct written ability test as part of the personality assessment test. In MAT candidates get the option to select 5 B-schools of their choice in the MAT application form, where AIMA will send their scores for shortlisting for MBA Admission. Candidates can choose from up to 600 MBA colleges which accept MAT score for admission. Once the MAT result for an exam phase is announced, the scorecards are sent to selected colleges. The colleges then contact the candidates for shortlisting process if they qualify on the basis of minimum MAT cut off. In case a candidate wishes to seek admission to any B-school other than the chosen five, they need to apply at their respective websites separately. MBA seat is offered to candidates only if they clear the group discussion and Personal Interview.
Q:   What is the total cost of pursuing MBA from XLRI?
A:

The total course fee of full time MBA at XLRI is INR 28 Lacs according to Shiksha. The fee is to be paid semester wise. The first installment is to be paid at the time of admission. The XLRI course fee includes tuition fees, hostel and mess charges, caution money, library chargers and other miscellaneous services.

Q:   Is it compulsory to appear for CAT/XAT/GMAT to participate in the MICAT admission process?
A:

MICAT selection criteria requires applicants to have a valid score in CAT/XAT/GMAT. Score in the national level exam has a weightage of 20 per cent while preparation of merit list. Additionally, the MBA exam score helps shortlisting candidate for the GE-PI. Candidates have to meet the CAT/XAT/GMAT cutoff scores to be assessed for their performance in Section-B. Candidates whpo do not meet the cutoff score are not evaluated for Section B as well as Section C. Therefore, appearing for the national level MBA entrance exam is mandatory to participate in the MICA PGDM admission process.
