The maximum stipend offered during SIP is Rs.20,000 per month offered by a few marketing and finance companies . 750 got selected out of 790, remaining 40 applied from outside voluntarily. College will definitely help for SIP, you don't need to arrange for your own. If you are looking for a profile of your own interest or choice then you can also apply from outside. Decision will be all yours whether you want college to enroll you for a company during SIP or you want to search for a profile or a company of your own choice then you can even arrange for your self. Always decide a college after studying its previous placement records, the quality of the faculty teaching there, market views,fees and is it worth your money.
coming to your question,IBS Mumbai has always been a better option compared to Thakur institute of management, be it placements, quality of education or faculty. and rankwise also IBS is better than Thakur. hope this helps. all the best.

The Alliance central campus, Anekal, Bangalore is far better than IBS, Mumbai. The Ascent college is good for marketing and finance. The Alliance Ascent college is having better world class faculties who is having international level experience and they are able to mold the students to a perfect manager, and the college is having good placement records last year 94% students got placed, with and average package of 6.5 lacs.

If you live In Lucknow then I would suggest you to select IBS Lucknow as it will save your accommodation cost, mess charges, hostel charges and so on. It would also be reasonable for you to adjust and get well educated in your own home town. I am damn sure that even IBS Lucknow must be providing cool placements with good package . Keep IBS Lucknow or Mumbai as your first preference choice. If in case you want to look for other options I am suggesting you some .

IBS Jaipur Hyderabad and Dehradun are approved by UGC as they offer an MBA degree. IBS Mumbai and other campuses offer PGPM degree for which AICTE and UGC approval is not required. Some of the top bschools like MDI Gurgaon also offer PGPM degree and not PGDM or MBA so the PGPM degree will not make much of a difference.

Yes IBS Mumbai is a very good college. The PGPM degree will not make much of a difference as the brand name of IBS is really good.IBS Mumbai is especially a good option if you are interested in pursuing MBA in finance. For marketing IBS Gurgaon will be a better option.
