Hi Chaitanya,
The minimum CAT cut-off would be a very biased and limited way to look at the admission procedure. Minimum CAT cutoff would imply that the candidate had brilliant interview, GD and WAT rounds and also his profile was quite stellar. Instead a better way would be to look at the overall composite score which also can be quite random and varies significantly across 6 IIMs. Thus, rather than focusing on these uncontrollable variables, I would advise you to not limit yourself by aiming for a particular CAT score but rather aim to score as high as possible. Having said all this, your 10th, 12th and graduation scores are good to get calls from top 6 IIMs provided you also score a good CAT percentile. All the best.

Hi Adrita,
IIM Bangalore as such does not have any minimum cutoff percentage in class 10th, 12th or Bachelors, which you need to clear. However, it assigns a weight of 50% (20% for 10th, 10% for 12th and 20% for bachelors score) and thus, it wo

Hi Adrita,
IIM Bangalore as such does not have any minimum cutoff percentage in class 10th, 12th or Bachelors, which you need to clear. However, it assigns a weight of 50% (20% for 10th, 10% for 12th and 20% for bachelors score) and thus, it would be difficult to get a call from IIM Bangalore (refer to http://www.iimb.ac.in/sites/default/files/iimb-pgp-admission-process.pdf). IIM Ahmedabad on the other hand has a minimum cutoff percentage which is set at 80 percentile score. Thus, looking at your graduation score, it would be impossible to get a call from IIMA (unless you are in top 20 percentile at your college, please refer to https://web.iima.ac.in/users/admission/files/Shortlisting Criteria for PGP 2017-19 batch_110117.pdf).
However, having said that, there are many top B-schools who will consider you provided you could score a respectable score in CAT. Therefore, your aim to be to maximize your CAT score. All the best.

Hi,
It is simply not possible to know the exact CAT percentile which can guarantee a call. It depends on other factors as well, such as the academic diversity, work-experience (both in terms of number of months and relevance) and academic diversity. Apart from that, it also changes from year to year and can be quite random. So, instead of trying to score a fixed number, I would suggest you to give your best and try to maximize your score. That way, even if you don't get a call from IIMB, you still can aim for other top management schools. If you are talking in terms of minimum possible cutoffs to be eligible, then in 2017, it was 75 in VARC, 70 each in DILR and QA. Overall, it was 80 percentile.

I have very limited knowledge of the same. Therefore, I would request you to look at HRD's rankings, Times of India and Hindustan Times rankings.

Hello,
IIM's are still in the phase of earning a recognition for their 1-year program. I would rank ISB as the top most choice for the same. It is ranked under top 30 colleges for doing MBA from around the world. The program, course structure, faculty and post-MBA placements are excellent in ISB and have been a threat to all major IIM's one year MBA programs.
While getting into ISB's one year program is extremely difficult, it is comparatively easy to get into EPGP of IIM B. The second choice would be SP Jain. While ISB is pretty much ahead of SP Jain with respect to the above parameters, SP Jain is slowly catching up with the top colleges around the world. SP Jain is too ranked under top 30 colleges in the world to do an MBA from.
If you are really looking for a one year MBA, then please consider ISB and SP Jain as your top choices, and in an extreme case, consider IIM B EPGP.
