Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata, has maintained an up-gradation in placement records. Compared to prestigious engineering schools, entrance to JVIT (Jnana Vikas Institute of Technology) is comparatively simple. JVIT primarily admits students based on their achievement in admission tests like KCET or COMEDK. It's critical to fulfill the institute's eligibility requirements, which include achieving a respectable score on these tests and the necessary cumulative score on 12th-grade or comparable exams. Students with average to good scores can get a seat because it is not as competitive or sought-after as NITs or IITs. But because of demand, some fields, like computer Science or early childhood education, can face a little more competition.

The reviews about the quality of food within the hostel mess at the Sandip Institute of Technology and Research Centre was mixed. Although, many found the food generally sufficient, various healthy options also existed within the mess. However, some students raise issues on inconsistent taste. The menu is not too changeable and is constant throughout the whole year, thus creating food monotony. Hygiene levels are maintained, and freshly prepared food is provided, but much improvement can be seen in terms of dining options. Also, there are options for campus canteens available but are considered expensive as compared to hostel food. The food quality overall is rated to be average and is seen with a scope for improvement.
