MIT Chennai BE/BTech is a four-year undergraduate degree course divided into eight semesters. MIT Chennai is affiliated with Anna University. MIT BE/BTech courses are offered in nine specialisations, which are taught through eight departments, and available in both full-time and part-time modes. The name of some specialisations are Computer Science Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, BE in Mechanical (part-time), etc. Madras Institute of Technology BE/BTech admission is based on the performance of candidates in the previous qualifying exam. The final selection is done based on TNEA Counselling, which is primarily conducted to offer admissions to candidates in various Engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu. The selection criteria for BTech/BE courses at MIT Chennai require eligible candidates who have selected MIT Chennai, Anna University, in their choice to fill out the TNEA counselling process. Therefore, firstly, candidates must complete the basic eligibility criteria, which is that applicants must complete their Class 12 from the Science stream with an aggregate of 45%. Candidates must note that this is the basic eligibility criteria; candidates with good scores in their higher senior secondary have a better chance of getting selected through TNEA counselling.
Further, the college releases the merit list after evaluating the applicant's applications, scores, preferences, specialsiations, and seat availability.
Eligibility : Minimum percentage in 12th is 50%. And mandatory subjects are mathematics, physics, chemistry. Candidates must have passed Class 12 along with mandatory subjects from a recognized board/university or authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto are eligible to apply. Age : maximum 21 years.
Other eligibility criteria : Candidates who have given any other examination of any other authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto are also eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to SC/ST, the age limit is relaxable by three years. Admission : Admission is through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) and counseling based on the marks obtained in Class 12.
